Mission Statement
The Coalition for Market Integrity (CMI), is a nonpartisan, nonprofit alliance of public companies, investors, and stakeholders committed to promoting fairness, transparency, and accountability in U.S. capital markets.
Formed in early 2025 as a response to the rising threat of market manipulation; particularly short-and-distort campaigns, naked short selling, and algorithmic manipulation.
CMI advocates for stronger enforcement of existing laws, smarter transparency standards, and a level playing field for all participants. Our coalition seeks to work collaboratively with policymakers, regulators, and the business community to ensure that America’s markets remain the most trusted and efficient in the world. CMI also serves as a central voice for companies that have been victims of misinformation and market manipulation, giving them the tools, community, and influence to protect shareholder value and uphold public trust.
Goals of the Coalition
• Advocate for consistent enforcement of Rule 10b-5 and other anti-fraud provisions.
• Educate policymakers on real-world impacts of manipulative short selling and data distortion.
• Convene impacted companies to share best practices, legal resources, and communication strategies.
• Engage with regulators like the SEC and FINRA to recommend enforcement priorities and reforms.
